Matusik Property Insights recently conducted a survey of existing tenants to find out what was important to them. The survey has found that 7 out of 10 tenants are looking to buy, but until that takes place, most want to stay in their current accomodation and are willing to pay more in rent to do so. And with 3/4 paying under a third of their income in rent (and 1/2 paying less than a quarter of their take home pay on accommodation costs), it looks like they can afford to do so.
