The year that was 2008... Merry Christmas
The festive season is well and truly upon us again.
2008 has certainly been an interesting year; a year which has seen constant, and often unpredicted, change as a side-effect of some ridiculous lending practices in America which we now know as the ‘sub-prime fiasco’. The world-wide economy has been fighting hard to put together various recovery packages. In Australia we’ve seen interest rates drop by a whopping 3% in 3 months, and more predicted in the new year. Petrol prices have also come down substantially, many households are in the process of receiving a Christmas ‘bonus’ from the Government to stimulate consumer spending, and first home buyers now have, arguably, the biggest incentive ever to get out of the rental trap.
2009 promises to be very interesting. I’ve read a few articles of late suggesting that there are early signs of the economy recovering. People are starting to talk about gains to be made in property and the share market again.
Before we commence our break to enjoy Christmas with our families, the team at 6-Point wishes to thank you all for your continued support during 2008. May you all have a merry Christmas with moments of love, laughter, and goodwill. As the new year approaches, we encourage you to take a moment to make a few goals for the year ahead; be positive, challenge yourself!
Enjoy time with your family and friends. Merry Christmas and best wishes for the new year from Simon and the team at 6-Point.
